When I did my recent Benefit order I decided to pick up the limited edition sample set of some of the products from their new b.right skin care, having already fallen head over heels for the Refined Facial Polish in my review.

The set includes a sample size of their It's Potent! eye cream, Foamingly Clean face wash and Triple Performing Facial Emulation.

I'd already tried some of the eye cream on the back of my hand at the counter and was not too sure about it, but decided to give it a go to see how it held up against my all tome favourite eye cream, Clinique's All About Eyes. It has a creamy texture and a bit of a strong smell, but seemed to do the same job, more creamy that Clinique's offering which is more like a gel. It works, and I'm totally in love with the little glass jar it came in, but I still think I prefer using gel products around my eyes. Also, after a few days my eye area started to feel dry and raw which is what happens when I have an reaction to a product. I usually don't have problems with Benefit products, so I was really surprised at this.

Next I tried the Foamingly Clean face wash. I really liked how creamy it was, and how well it foamed (it lives up to its name!) It also had a pleasant scent but personally I still prefer the facial polish because I don't like the tight, squeaky clean feeling my face was left with, but that is a personal preference, and this is a really good product and my skin felt much cleaner, clearer and brighter after using it.

Finally I tried the face lotion: Triple Performing Facial Emulation with SPF 15. Again, this product does its job, smells okay but is not to my personal preference, being just a moisturiser that reminds me of Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion - not buttery or gel like enough for my liking, but still has been holding up as well as any other products I regularly use over the last few days.
The whole collection claims to leave your skin looking brighter, and all these products do do just that (especially when you use them together). My skin looked better, healthier and brighter and I really loved the effect. I will be replacing my Clinique 7 Day Scrub with the Facial Polish when it runs out, and I've tried the b.right face cream on the back of my hand at the counter, and I think it might be a strong contender for my new face cream, and I'm still not completely happy with the thicker creams I've tried from Clinique to compliment my everyday Moisture Surge routeen.
Have you tried any of Benefit's new b.right range? What do you think of it?
I don't even know if we can get this brand in New Zealand but this was still an interesting read. A good reminder to me that I should probably be taking more care of myself and thinking about things like eye creams!
ReplyDeleteThe packaging is really drawing me in! I was looking at the facial polish and considering that. I also use Clinique's 7 day scrub!
ReplyDeleteBTW, thanks for your comment. Glad I made you think =]
The packaging is gorgeous! Thinking about buying this sample set so thanks for the review! xx
ReplyDeleteI have the foamingly clean facial wash, and I love it - it's so good to be able to use a product like this without having an allergic reaction, too!
ReplyDeleteI'd buy this just for the packaging! Annoyingly though I think I'd have a similar reaction to you, the joys of insanely sensitive skin!
ReplyDeletenice post & love youre blog

I'm totally crap at doing anything to take care of my skin. Do I need to be using anti-ageing creams? Everyone else is, but I'm 20!!!
ReplyDeleteThis was a really helpful review, Rachel! I love the packaging of the products, but I have uber sensitive skin, so I would probably be a bit nervous to try it.
ReplyDelete♥oh. so nice post.)) i love your blog.))♥
ReplyDeletebenifit is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for Benefit make up but when it comes to skincare products, I am always a bit dubious because i have sensitive skin - and to me, from the way that it's packaged, it "feels" like it might be quite heavy and irritate my skin. I usually stick to brands like Lancome and Clarins. But I think i will take a look at this when I'm next out - so thank you so much for taking the time to review it. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteI've seen a benefit counter at my local shopping centre, and all there stuff looks so gorgeous! I have been meaning to for ages to go take a proper look:)

I've always loved Benefit's items but they're way too pricey in my country. My best friend in Seattle uses it, and it's much cheaper there. But the one thing that always grabs my attention about Benefit is how creative their packaging and names are! Lovelove.
ReplyDeletePerhaps when I've got a lot more cash in my pocket, I might splurge on an item or two from Benefit. x
I've been looking for a nice eye cream for a while now, and these ones look so pretty! i guess i'm a sucker for nice packaging ♡
ReplyDeletegreat review! i'll definitely be checking out this range~
Really enjoyed this review! I've totally switched up my skin care routine and believe less is more. But before this I was SUCH a skin care junky and would buy anything in a pretty package.
ReplyDeleteThank GOD I saw this collection AFTER I changed my routine. :( But it's so pretty I want! I'm v surprised to see that the eye cream caused a reaction.
Have a great one! x NTA @ blogspot

Thanks for the comment, I'm still unsure to whether or not to get a maxi dress, i feel a bit strange in it :) I love benefit, your blog is lovely btw xx
ReplyDeleteBenefit is my go-to brand for anything cosmetics related, so thanks so much for this review! I'm not sure how much I need a brightening treatment since my skin is usually pretty naturally luminous (thanks, oily-type skin!), but it sure seems like it's worth a try.
