Product Review: Lush Fair Trade Foot Lotion

I have real problems with my feet. They are a funny shape, they hate shoes and dry skin is a big problem! I'm still on a hunt for the right foot cream to help with the dryness, so as I'm having a bit of a love affair with Lush products at the moment I decided to pick up a pot of their Fair Trade Foot Lotion in store and give it a go!

You get quite a big tub, but it is still quite expensive at £8.35 a tub. When I opened it I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely pretty pink colour, as well as the lovely minty smell. Some other foot creams and lotions I have tried have been more menthol than minty, and I have always wanted to wash my hands after application because I did not like the smell. However, with this lotion I don't have an urge to wash my hands afterwards because of the smell!

As far a what it has done for my feet, I'm afraid to say, inspire of my official happiness with the product it does not work. It does not moisturize me feet and it leaves them still feeling dry after the first application. After using it for about a week or so I think my feet were worse, more dry and I was more prone to blisters and my skin was peeling. However, I have read some really good reviews of this product, so it might just be up to skin type.  I have dry skin.

Has anyone else tried this foot lotion? How did you get on? Are there any other foot creams or lotions you'd recommend?

  1. Hemp foot protector from The body shop is a life saver! Its a little pricey at £10 a pot but trust me it is amazing :)

  2. Hm, I never really take care of my feet, but still glad for your review, as I'm a sucker for advertising so it's good to know the truth :P

  3. The body shop body butters are really good. They are a bit expensive at £12.50 each but I couldn't live without mine. The ones with the thicker textures to them like the jolly orange and the blueberry one, I don't particularly like on my skin, but they are amazing on your feet! I used mine for a few days and did notice a big difference, and vaseline and socks over night always helps :) X

  4. @ Rachelle - I've never heard of that, next time I'm in The Body Shop I'll be sure to check it out - thanks for letting me know about it!

@ Rose Petals - Vasaline and socks? Really? Never heard of that either, but I'll be sure to give it a go - thanks for the tip!

  5. I'm a shocker when it comes to skin care in general. But I don't really have any skin trouble areas so that can only be a good thing I guess. I really want to get into the Lush craze (all the products look so sweet and colourful) but every time I walk into the store I end up in a sneezing fit (must be a bit sensitive to all the fragrances).

    Good luck with the hunt!

  6. I bought this for my mum a while back, I think she only used it a few times as well. The tub is still pretty full. I didn't try it myself though. I did love the smell though.

  13. that's such a shame it didn't work for you! i guess i feel that way about all lush products that aren't amazing... because i love lush immensely. the only foot cream i've ever had luck with is the true blue spa "shea it isn't so" cream from bath & body works. it's nothing totally special but it does moisturize! :)

  15. Hmm that's a shame, I'm usually a massive Lush fan (especially the teatree water toner), better luck elsewhere! Have you tried the soap and glory range? I've got the Heel Genius and that works pretty well for me! ♥ Claire @ Jazzpad

  17. Sometimes it helps applying it to your skin while it's still wet. Don't know if that helps or not..might make a difference?

  26. My feet are soooo bad, I got this scraper thing from boots, can't remember the name of it though? anyway, after I use that, they're soft for like a minute and then they're back to their regular selves!! x

  27. I love how that looks like ice cream. I enjoying using Kiehl's Creme de Corps on my feet - makes it so soft.

  29. I know this is an old post, but I'm checking out to see what other people have to say about this besides myself. & in all honesty when I bought they said it's more like an organic pain reliever lotion. you may have bad problems, i have my own. my foot hurts terrible when i walk, stand on it, or even drive. it's my driving foot, and sometime during my winter break it started to hurt i don't know why, it hurts where i bend it, & i have too many other doctor appointments but originally i bought this for my mom and her aching feet because back in may 2012 she broke all then of her toes. ouch, i bought her some organic stuff, because sometimes it works better for us than drugs or medicine. and last night was the first time i used it on my painful foot, and today i didn't feel a thing. i'm quite impressed.
