Innocent Smoothies: The Big Knit

A while ago I got a very exciting email from Clemmie at Innocent Smoothies about a very exciting collaboration to promote their 'Big Knit' initiative. do you remember those cool knitted hats you get on bottles of Innocent Smoothie every November ? Until November 29t in Boots and Sainsbury's stores you can buy these special hat adorned bottles of delicious smoothie, and for every bottle sold 25p will be donated to Age UK - how awesome is that?

This November Innocent have asked celebrities and designers to design special hats for them, from Heston Blumenthal to Sienna and Savannah Miller... and me (alone with 13 other bloggers).  I was both very flattered to be asked to design a special hat for such an amazing cause, and very excited to get started!
Fast forward to Monday night when I heard a knock on the door while I was helping to cook dinner and the courier handed me this pink bag from Fruit Towers - my hat had arrived, along with some extra smoothie type goodies too!
Innocent Hat
So, this is what I designed! I was very, very happy with it after I'd designed it and was really, really excited to see it knitted up as an actual hat. However, nothing could have prepared me for the excitement of receiving the final result...
What is special about this year, the wonderful knitters over at Fruit Towers made special life sized hats from our designs to give away to our readers - so, as much as I really, really want to keep it for myself, who wants this hat I designed!  For a change to win this knitted wonder (they did a very good job considering they were just working from my drawing!) you need to leave me a comment on this post, telling me why you should win the hat and what you'd wear it with! Remember to leave your email address in your comment so I can get in contact with you if you win, and in order to enter you must be a follower of my blog via Google Friend Connect or Bloglovin'.
The wonderful team at Innocent also included a smoothies sized hat too, which was a lovely surprise for me as I'm having to give away a hat that I have fallen so in love with - now I'll have something to remember her by!

Have you been out to buy your woolly had adorned bottle yet?

  1. I love your hat design and the extra cute mini hat. I would love to win it as it would keep me extra warm when walking the children to school and make me the most stylish mum at the school gates. I would wear it with a shift dress and woolly tights and boots with a kind of duffle coat over the top.

I have followed you with Google Friend, my email is

  2. This is such a cute idea!

I'm not going to be mean and steal an entry, though - it's the wrong season for me, so I don't want to be selfish (:

  3. Oh my gosh - the smoothie even got a hat! So cute!

  7. Lovely hat design and couldn't be better timing for me as I just booked a skiing trip to Kaprun, Austria. I go in two weeks and I am in desperate need of a hat to keep my ears warm and look stylish on the slopes. I would also be able to keep you updated on the where-a-bouts of the hat via my blog as my Ski trip will no doubt feature.

I would pair it with a more cool wintery look: black boots, grey mittens, and a cute Christmassy jumper (maybe with Rudolf on it).

  10. that hat is adorable!

  11. It turned out splendid!
I love how knitted items always have a chunky and warm feel to them.
The cream stars on navy remind me of snowflakes falling at nighttime- charming <3

I'd wear it with my curls loose and a grey peacoat :)

  12. A few months ago, I started Sixth Form as an English Lit/Lang, Drama and Sociology student, and I spend most of my days daydreaming professionally and walking back home past a barbed-wire protected garage with an abandoned yacht in the forecourt, train tracks and through a field of moody piebald horses. By the time I get home of an evening, stamping out on coastal resort pavements, the sky is black, the streetlights are lit up yellow, the stars are beginning to peep out, and my ears have pinked salmon in the cold, hence my coveting the hat. I would wear it with my hair bleached white-blonde with navy tips, my mother's old, oversized cream knitted cardigan, navy wellingtons and a white dress with a Peter Pan collar. Oh, and teacup earrings.

Been following you for a while, dear, and

  13. What a wonderful opportunity! And I love your design. The mini version looks so cute (don't they all! I love the mini hats on the smoothie bottles) and the big-size one looks lovely :)
