Sherin and I were on Regents Street this afternoon and had our hearts set on an all American lunch. We headed over to our favourite haunt of The Diner in SoHo, only to find that it was closed due to a power outage on its street. Panic. After a while of wondering around and worrying, we decided that in our pursuit of some American food to head over to Planet Hollywood.

Long Island Iced Tea. It was rather potent, but I find the blend of coke, ice and spirits goes really well with a burger or club sandwich and fries.

I had a Hollywood Club without cheese. Basically, a double decked toasted sandwich with salad, mayonnaise bacon and chicken. It came with lots and lots of fries. This face made me very happy.
The meal was by no means perfect, but it is good enough it you're after some American style food and The Diner is either full or closed!

While dodging the protest march on our way back up Regents Street we ducked into Anthropologie; a store I am always lusting after online and have walked past several times without actually going into. The entire back of their store wall is planted with living vegetation - how cool is that?!

If I was spending money right now I would be all over this beautiful green dress. It reminded me of Annie in 90210.
When was the last time you had an 'all American' meal, or shopped at Anthropologie?

Yum looks lush! I went to the Hard Rock Cafe in london on friday and it's akin to this, and the food looks equally yummy! x
ReplyDeleteI took my boyfriend to that Planet Hollywood for his birthday this year, we had the BEST meal at the one in NYC so wanted to compare. I agree, not perfect but still pretty good and I'd go again. Been wanting to go to The Diner, seen lots of blog posts about that place and it looks great.

Haven't eaten American food like that since I went to Berlin a couple of years back - strange! I love the back of the Anthropologie store! I'm a sucker for their homewares.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Planet Hollywood, I went there on my birthday this summer and oh my the potato skins are to die for! xx
ReplyDeleteYummy lunch! I'm craving fries now.
ReplyDeleteI have never actually shopped at Anthropologie, but I always look online and I spend hours browsing through their beautiful items. I really like the third dress, it's the one on the side with the mint strip across the bust. Very cute.

I had an all American meal on Friday as i went to TGI Friday's and the food was yummy
ReplyDeleteI love anthropology! I never buy anything as its so expensive (sometimes in the sale though!). The decor and props are amazing though. I'd love to work for them!
ReplyDeleteAhh, we almost ended up at TGI's, but we changed our mind when we were just outside and Planet Hollywood was just round he corner!
ReplyDeleteGo to The Diner the next time you're in London - you won't regret it, I promice!
ReplyDeleteWhere is the Hard Rock in London? I went to a couple in America and I loved them, so I have been wondering!
ReplyDeleteErm it's by Marble Arch, if I remember correctly, and the nearest station is Hyde Park Corner and then it's just a short walk from there! It's got a lovely bar downstairs and the atmosphere is incredible, as is the music! :) x
ReplyDeleteWhat you got looks amazing! We haven't got many of those American diner style places here, so I've never tried it before.
ReplyDeleteI loved our panic!! But a blessing in disguise: Planet Hollywood was amazing.
