Introducing: Stolen Thunder's Heritage Collection

I've been a fan of the Stolen Thunder aesthetic for quite a while now, but I was never very big of the whole wood part of their look. So, you can understand how excited I was when I was contacted about their new Heritage line that will soon be available on their site.

This black claw pendant also comes with a turquoise ball, but I like this black one and how it is a bit darker and slightly less generic. This wishbone is my favourite, though. Simple yet chic! Usually I think nautical motifs are overrated, but I also really like this anchor pendant for some reason.

I think this little hedgehog is absolutely adorable! Also very cute and very unlike anything I've seen before! I also have a bit of an obsession with things that have owls on them. I think it might be my Harry Potter obsession surfacing somewhere near my obsession with owls in the Classical world. Because it is not like I'm a geek or anything!

What are your favourites from the new collection? (P.S. This weekend you can get 10% off at Stolen Thunder using the code NEW at the checkout!)

#susiesleavingdo: The Event

On Saturday, spread across 3 Central London venues Sherin and I hosted a leaving party meets blogger meet up for our friend Susie's leaving London party.
DSC_0522
Our first stop was Merkaba on Tottenham Court Road for a lovely and traditional afternoon tea.
DSC_0544
Susie was wearing an incredibly sparkly Disco Pony dress, and she looked amazing! It was backless, and I told her she just had to wear it to her party when she first posted about it...

I loved Fritha's sparkly silver and gold crackle layer nails - please say she does a blog post about them like she says she will!

Lets just take a moment to talk about the amazing afternoon tea, which I would totally recommend and go back for!

As some of you may have noticed by now, a big thing for me are macarons. My favourite are raspberry, but actually the vanilla cream ones we had were pretty amazing!
DSC_0535
Though I'm not actually one for sandwiches, and I don't even like brown bread I could not get enough of these egg sandwiches!
DSC_0540 DSC_0538
The strawberry tea from these super luxe teabags was so tasty, I really need to find out where I can get my hands on some!

Some very lovely sponsors including Jon Richards, Lush, Matalan, Witch Skincare and Batiste Hair provided us with some pretty fantastic goodie bags - I'm going to tell you all about what was in them and thank everyone involved with putting them together properly in a separate post a bit later this week!
DSC_0549
I think Fritha was particularly pleased with what came in her goodie bag...
DSC_0581
Our next stop was for cocktails and nibbles in Cafe Luc. The drinks in there are so strong I'm pretty sure they could blow a lightweights head off!

After Cafe Luc, Pink Pigeon Rum were kind enough once again to host us in Circus, Covent Garden  for their Pink Runway cocktails.
DSC_0594
There were different performers to the ones Sherin and I enjoyed on Tuesday night - first up with had a super talented hula hoop girl who was fascinating to watch.
DSC_0599
Susie totally blended into the decor in her sequin dress...
DSC_0607
The second act was a male acrobat performing on a suspended ring - except for the fire eater on Tuesday night, the best performer we'd seen in there so far!

After Circus we all followed Daniela on a trek around Covent Garden as she led the way to Wagamamas - the perfect late night meal!

Though a thank you post is to come, I just wanted to thank everyone who sponsored the event, helped out and finally came so we could make it such a special day for Susie - we're going to really miss her!

Introducing: Sarenza

I've known about online shoe company Sarenza for ages, but I'd never actually taken a moment to browse through their collections. As you can probably tell from these pictures, I could not contain my excitement when I discovered they stock my favourite go to shoe brand, Carvella at Kurt Geiger, and they they also sell my ultimate shoe lust, Jeffery Campbells. As you can most likely tell from the prices below, they are also cheaper than lots of other stores selling these labels - always another plus in my book! Though they are a French company, they seem to cater for all aspects of British style. These shoes I've picked out I think will be perfect for me to stomp around my new London home in!
sarenza1
Carvella Red Suede Shoe Boots: £145.35, Jeffrey Campbell 'Azure' Boots: £102.85, Lauren by Ralph Lauren Ankle Boots: £208.85

I have so much love for Carvella shoe boots, and this wine colour is absolutely amazing! The middle boots I love because the sheepskin lining looks so incredibly warm, and because I don't usually go for pale coloured shoes. Though, the first boots from Lauren by Ralph Lauren are my favourite because they looks so comfortable but still stylish and versatile - I love the leather detailing around the tops!

sarenza2
Jeffery Campbell Silver Glitter 'Foxy' Sandals: £77.69, Vivianne Westwood/ Melissa Ankle Rain Boot: £96.05, Jeffery Campbell Silver Glitter 'Litas': £103.32

I promise I will eventually buy myself a pair of Jeffery Campbells, so you don't have to listen to me lusting after them again and again, but in the meanwhile how amazing are these two glitter styles? I love Litas, and when I tried them on in Selfridges I found them oh so comfortable, but I really like the 'Foxy' sandals because I think they look a bit less clunky. I'm also newly in love with these Vivianne Westwood/ Melissa ankle rain boots - I think these will be perfect for dashing around London in the rainy weather this Autumn!

The total cost of these six pairs of shoes add up to just under £800 - in my dreams! What would you order from Sarenza if you had that much to spend?

Event Preview: Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model Live 2011 (You could win some tickets!)

Last year I hopped on the train to London to check out the first ever Britain's Next Top Model Live event along with the team from British Style Bloggers. The day was great fun full of shopping, cocktails, runways shows, live performances and cupcakes in jars, so you can imagine how excited I was when the PR team behind the show emailed me to let me know that the event will be returning to the capital for the second year in a row!
DSC_0021
They day is basically the ultimate girls day out - shopping, beauty demonstrations, vintage, fashion shows, celebrities, runway workshops and the chance to get scouted. I love the idea of the Open Catwalk where anyone can try their hand at walking down the runway, regardless of their size and shape. If you hope to get scouted, there is free model coaching at the event.
DSC_0026
This year I hope to stop by the Powder Room for a free facial, makeover or manicure - I did not get the chance to last time and everyone was walking out of there looking fantastic!

I'm also really excited to hear which music guests will be performing this year. Last year we had Jessie J, who was amazing and it was before everyone actually knew who she was, and Diana Vickers who is my all time favourite X Factor contestant.

Introducing: Circus, London & Pink Pigeon Rum

Last night Sherin, Daniela and I were the guests of  Pink Pigeon Rum to sample their London Fashion Week cocktails in  a fantastic bar called Circus in Covent Garden.
DSC_0477
I always love something for a good cause, and 10% of the sales of each 'Pink Runway' cocktail goes to the Ethical Fashion Forum - a cocktail with a conscience!
DSC_0478
The bar is not the easiest to find, but if you leave  Covent Garden tube station, walk up the main road and turn into Endell street you'll find it about a minutes walk down behind a pair of plain black doors with just a menu sitting outside.
DSC_0476
I absolutely  loved Sherin's dress - Clothing at Tesco dressed her for fashion week this season, and she's looked fabulous every single day!
DSC_0483 DSC_0502
Needless to say the cocktails was absolutely fantastic - just the right balance of chilli, ginger, rum and sweet pomegranate. Pink Pigeon is slightly vanilla and grenadine flavoured - my kind of rum! As for the rest of the bars menu I also sampled a Raspberry Mule - fantastic!
DSC_0487 DSC_0480 DSC_0500
Circus is a bar that also serves food (which looked fantastic by the way, I'll have to go back to sample some!) and in the dining area there is some fantastic entertainment - first up was the male acrobat.
DSC_0511 DSC_0505 DSC_0520
Next was the fire performer, who danced around the diners holding balls of fire in her hands.
DSC_0532
Then, when she got up on stage we realised that she was an fire eater - it was absolutely incredible to watch!DSC_0534 pinkp
Hat: Primark (current collection), Velvet Jacket: Vintage, Lace Detail Dress: Soolee London
DSC_0551
This is that handbag I've been carrying around fashion week with me, I usually am not a big fan of Anne Klein designs, but this one is absolutely lovely, if not a little annoying you can not sling it over your shoulder...
DSC_0552
I love my boots, and I've had so much wear out of these Carvella ones I got in the sale a few years ago - constantly being reheeled!

Has anyone else been to Circus or tried the Pink Pigeon Fashion Week cocktail? They're available till Saturday, so I suggest you head down to try one - its for a good cause!

Look Lounge: Westfield Stratford City

This afternoon I hopped on the tube and took the Central line across to Westfield Stratford City - the largest shopping mall in Europe that opened last week. It was absolutly packed, (and they have practically everything there from shops to supermarkets to banks and cinemas) and though I enjoyed being able to explore anothe Forever 21 location and shopping in a Primark as big as the one on Oxford Street but not as crowded, my real reason for being there was to attend a Q&A that was being held by Sophie Beresiner who is Look's Beauty Editor. Sorry that the colour is a bit dodgy on my photos, I did the best I could in Photoshop but I think my new camera lens is acting up...
look4
I was wowed by the amazing layout and interior of the lounge the moment I stepped into it. Its a shame it is not a permeant bloggers lounge at Stratford really, I would practically live in there!
look3
Sophie was talking about her job as beauty editor, which was really interesting, especially for me as a beauty blogger, but mostly about her two blogs, I Love Lipstick and Sophie Feels Better. While I Love Lipstick is your average beauty blog of what Sophie really loves that comes across her desk, Sophie Feels Better is a beauty blog chartering her battle with Breast Cancer. A cancer blog with a difference. She talks about how to fill your eyebrows so it actually looks like you have eyebrows after chemo, about wearing diffrent wigs, her work with the cancer charity Look Good Feel Better - the whole thing is wonderfully written. Having very recently lost someone very close and dear to me to cancer, her talk was heart wrenching for me, but has left me with so much admiration of all she has done to move the stigma from the diese and still feeling beautiful while you're suffering with it. If you are not already a reader or subscriber, you really MUST check the blog out.

She also told us a bit about Look's new makeup range she helped develop which is for sale in Superdrug. I went and had a gander at the collection after the Q&A, and I think I'm going back to Superdrug when I visit Westfield on Thursday again to pick up one of the collections double ended lipstick/ lip gloss tubes.
look6
I loved her All Saints shirt, but I developed a little shoe crush on these beautiful Topshop trainer wedge boot things Sophie was wearing...
look5
In the lounge there was also a TV playing some pretty great hair tutorials from the Look Beauty team - I was watching out of the corner of my eye and I think I managed to pick up some useful tips!

Have any other Londoners (so happy that I can now officially call myself a Londoner!) been to Westfield Stratford City yet? What did you think, and did anyone else manage to catch any of the other events at the Look Lounge?
