Last season my favourite show was Carlotta Actis Barone's segment during the Fashion Mode show over at Vauxhall Fashion Scout, so I was over the moon do discover that she had her own show for the A/W season. Her work is politically aware and themed, and the invite for this show stated that 'Work Liberates' making me think instantly of Communist Russia.
Sumptuous fabrics in beautiful rich wines and burgundies, purples, blacks, silvers and greys made up the colour palette, making me very excited for fall. The room was filled with smoke for the show and the music was loud and very forbidding.
While the hair looked a lot like mine did earlier in the day, after the rain and before I'd dashed back to my flat to tame it into a top knot, I really want to try and create these bold and smoky eyes (I don't think it is a trend that will ever die) with some black glitter for a striking evening look. Fashion156 has some great backstage photos with closeups of the hair and makeup!
The models walked the runway wearing varying dark shades of Hunter wellies. I was very, very happy about this, and I bet the models appreciated the easy to walk in footwear too! Last season Carlotta's models walked the runway wearing fresh flower adorned stripper heels.
I can't wait to see what Carlotta comes up for next season! What was your favourite show from the second day of London Fashion Week?
