London Fashion Week: Carlotta Actis Barone A/W12

Last season my favourite show was Carlotta Actis Barone's segment during the Fashion Mode show over at Vauxhall Fashion Scout, so I was over the moon do discover that she had her own show for the A/W season. Her work is politically aware and themed, and the invite for this show stated that 'Work Liberates' making me think instantly of Communist Russia.
Sumptuous fabrics in  beautiful rich wines and burgundies, purples, blacks, silvers and greys made up the colour palette, making me very excited for fall. The room was filled with smoke for the show and the music was loud and very forbidding.

While the hair looked a lot like mine did earlier in the day, after the rain and before I'd dashed back to my flat to tame it into a top knot, I really want to try and create these bold and smoky eyes (I don't think it is a trend that will ever die) with some black glitter for a striking evening look. Fashion156 has some great backstage photos with closeups of the hair and makeup

The models walked the runway wearing varying dark shades of Hunter wellies. I was very, very happy about this, and I bet the models appreciated the easy to walk in footwear too! Last season Carlotta's models walked the runway wearing fresh flower adorned stripper heels.

I can't wait to see what Carlotta comes up for next season! What was your favourite show from the second day of London Fashion Week?

  1. Looks incredible! Gutted I missed it!! Hopefully see you around later on today or tomorrow at Inbar.

  2. I'm not sure if I'm going to make it in today, as I have no shows and SO much work to do, but tomorrow at Inbar for sure, and I need to say hi to Susie sometime tomorrow too! Have fun today without me, while I write a uni assignment, design my holiday cottage business cards and our promotional leaflets!

  3. In love with the coat/dress(?) in the fourth picture. And who knew a pair of wellies could look so good with a prom-style dress!

  4. I was actually seriously considering wearing my Hunters with a prom style evening dress to a dinner just before Christmas (long story), I totally should have gone for it - I would have been way ahead of the curve!

  5. lovely picture!

  6. Love the hair from this show, I always seem to end up with something like it when I use curling tongs so at least now its fashionable, haha. x

  7. Stunning photography! It's hard to photograph fast walking models, so I always appreciate it when I see photos like this shot really well. Good job! x

  8. Glad you like the pictures, I can tell you it has taken A LOT of practice!
