Recipe: Easy Okonomiyaki

Is it just me, but do you also get stressed in places like Japanese restaurants trying to order something – say, okonomiyaki – that you can neither spell or pronounce, worried that you’ll look and sound like an idiot in front of the staff?In case this is a social awkwardness that does not just belong to me alone I’m going to teach you how to make okonomiyaki (yes, that I’ve just typed into Google to make sure that I’m spelling it correctly) at home. I love these crisp, incredibly flavourful Japanese cabbage pancakes as a starter or as part of an Asian-inspired spread. Serve them with a simple mix of sugar, white wine vinegar and soy sauce, or my super umami okonomiyaki sauce.
